Hans P. Levsen Dies Tuesday; Rites Friday
Doland - Hans Peter Levsen, 74, died Tuesday at St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the Doland Methodist Church.
The Rev. C. Emory Anderson will officiate and burial will be made in Doland Cemetery. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted.
The Casket will be open at the church from 12 to 1:40 p.m. and not open following the service. Bryson Funeral Home, Redfield, is in charge of arrangements.
Hans Peter Levsen was born Jan. 13, 1888 at Olin, Iowa, the son of August and Johanna Levsen, he married Bertha Hubin Aug. 24, 1917. Levsen was a farmer and has been a resident of Spink County for 50 years. He was a director of the Doland Cooperatives Association, a former vice president and member of the board of the Security State Bank, Doland; a past master and a 50 year member of the Doland Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his widow, Bertha, Doland; four sons, Harlan, British Honduras, Central America; Russel, Doland; Arnold, Fergus Falls, Minn.; Donald, Aberdeen; eight grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Anna Glaze, Long Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Frieda Wells, Hudson, S.D.; Mrs Jim Moreland, Chamberlain; Miss Hertha Levsen, Wiggins, Colo.; Mrs. Emma Rohwedder, Wyoming, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and three brothers.
