Dorothy Kline
DOLAND Dorothy "Dolly" A. Kline, 91, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 1993, in the Redfield Hospital.
Dorothy Aldrich was born Feb. 11, 1902, on a farm near Doland. She attended country school near Doland and graduated from Doland High School in 1920. She attended Aberdeen Normal and received a teacher's certificate and returned to the country school and taught school.
She married Harold Kline on Nov. 1, 1924, in Clark. He died on Jan. 2, 1981. They operated the Doland Theater for several years. She and Margaret Hahn operated the Doland Swap Shop for many years. She served as the librarian for the Sherwood Memorial Library. She wrote the Doland news for the Huron Daily Plainsman and the Redfield Press for over 30 years.
She was a Cub Scout den mother. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Doland and taught Sunday School there. She was also a member of Eastern Star Lodge and the Emerald Rebekah Lodge for over 60 years.
Survivors include one son, H. Clayton and his wife, Ruth, of Watertown; two granddaughters: Mrs. Doug (Kerry) Paulson of Clark; and Mrs. Jim (Kristi) Czarnecki of Dayton, Ohio; and two great-granddaughters: Paige and Chelsi Paulson of Clark.
Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church in Doland, with burial in the Doland Cemetery, with Lodge rites by the Eastern Star Lodge of Redfield.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Osthus and Haugland Funeral Home in Clark, and after noon at the church on Thursday.
