She married Francis Marion Nelson, a son of William Alvin Nelson and Sarah Lavina (Hudgings) Nelson, on 6 Jun 1897, in Ash Grove, Greene, Missouri. They soon moved on to Oklahoma and then to Oregon where they raised their four children:
