Gonzales Inquirer, October 29, 1903:

Walter Braley, son of Mr. Thad Braley, formerly of this city, was fatally injured in an accident at the Brenham cotton mills yesterday afternoon. He was struck on the head by a pulley attached to the elevator, and sustained a badly fractured skull. The attending physicians say there is no hope for his recovery. This young man was formerly an employee of the Gonzales cotton mills, but recently removed to Brenham, where he has since been employed.

Note: he evidentally recovered from this accident and lived several more years.
