Marjorie Mina Flint, 86, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Doland, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2007 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Redfield. Pastor Tim Fugman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Doland Cemetery in Doland. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6-8:00 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.
Marjorie was born June 26, 1920, in Tulare, SD to Dan and Ida (Tasche) Ames. She attended a rural school, then graduated from Tulare High School in 1938. She received a teaching certificate from Northern State College, Aberdeen, and taught country schools for several years, in Spink County. She married Arnet Flint of Doland and moved to Doland in 1954, where she was active in the Community and in the Doland united Methodist church for many years. She moved to the Redfield Manor apartments in Redfield in November 1984. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Redfield, the Redfield area Retired Teachers association, and Senior Citizens. In 2003 she became a resident of Good Samaritan Luther Manor in Sioux Falls, where she lived until the time of her death
Marjorie is survived by her three children; Forrest and his wife Lisa Flint of Edina, MN, Marles and her husband Robert Hoffer of Manitou Springs, CO, , and Janet and her husband Jeff Brekke of Sioux Falls, SD. She is also survived by one brother Caroll and wife Lila Ames of Green Bay, WI, and two sisters Gail Fliehe of Bullhead City, AZ and Darlene and husband Gordon Crawford of Alcester, SD; six granddaughters, one grandson, and two great grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnet, who passed away on April 10, 1979.
