BROWNWOOD — Herschel Raymond Weedon, 91, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with the Revs. Bob Riley and Mike Riley officiating. Burial will be in the Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mr. Weedon was a 1926 graduate of Brownwood High School, and received his BA from Howard Payne College and his MA in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was the widower of Pattie Lee Cross Weedon, whom he married on Nov. 8, 1927 in Waco. He was a career member of the Army Chaplains Corps. After his retirement, he pastored at Grosvenor Baptist Church and the Calvary Baptist Church in May. He was a member of the local historical society.
Survivors include three children, Jack Raymond Weedon of Brownwood, Dr. Jerry Lee Weedon of Modesto, Calif., and Dr. Lynell Weedon Marshall of La Palma, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
