Disastrous Collision on the G.N. Oriental Trains No. 1 And 2 Collide With Appalling Results. Both Firemen and Expressman Killed Outright

A disastrous head end collision occurred between trains No. 1 and 2, the new oriental limited trains of the Great Northern, and which have proved by this experience to be the acme of car building, and all that has been claimed by the company in regard to safety. The collision took place about 10 o'clock at night when one train was running at nearly 50 miles an hour and the other at about 30 miles, and occurred on the main line 1 miles west of Columbia Falls.

The dead are: Willford M. Kangley, fireman No. 2; Ole Hanson, fireman No. 1; Bert Wurtzberger, express messenger No. 2
