His wife's name was Nancy Jane "Jennie" Young. He had at least 2 additional children, Charles Lee and William Alfred Younger, born 1877 in Mountain Creek, Wheeler (then Grant), Oregon. William died in 1958 in Burns, Harney, Oregon.

Nero Younger was the son of Littleton Purcell Younger and Eliza Sampson. He was first cousin to the Younger outlaws, Cole, Jim and Bob who partnered with Jesse James.
