Wilma Nadyne Walters, Lansing, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Overland Park. She was 72.
Mrs. Walters was born July 28, 1928, in Versailles, Mo., the daughter of James Oliver and Lenora Elizabeth Ritchie Peoples.
She attended schools in the Versailles, Mo., area and later moved to Kansas City, Mo.
She moved to Leavenworth County in 1964 and Lansing in 1980.
She was a member of the Household of Faith Church.
She married Norman Darrel Walters on Sept. 25, 1946, in Versailles, Mo. He preceded her in death March 8, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers; two sisters; one granddaughter, 1990; and one great-grandson, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Charles and Darrel Walters, both of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; two daughters, Wilma Hagen and LaVeta Bowen, both of Lansing; one brother, William Peoples, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Laverne Coffman, Elden, Mo., and Maxine Ollison, Sedalia, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
Burial will follow at the Fall Creek Cemetery, Jarbalo.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association in care of the Belden-Sexton-Sumpter Funeral Chapel, 500 Oak St., Leavenworth, KS 66048.
