Verneda is the gr gr granddaughter of William Alexander, Rev War Vet, 1752 Virginia - 1831 Kentucky.

Verneda Loretta Klepzig, 91, of Decatur, formerly of Shelbyville, died at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2008, in the McKinley Court in Decatur.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Lockart-Green Funeral Home, Shelbyville. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville.

She was born June 1, 1917, in Alton, the daughter of Harvey and Margaret Agee Alexander. She married Tony Klepzig April 27, 1994 in Decatur and he preceded her in death May 24, 1993.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was formerly employed in the candy department of Goldblatts and at Adolf Meyer in Decatur. She loved to crochet, country music and was an avid Cubs fan.

Surviving are one daughter, Judy James and partner, Jesse Marquez, of Tucson, AZ; one granddaughter, Danielle Bean and husband, Jason, of Bloomington; and niece, Barbara Butts and husband, Ronald, of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Almyra Hughes and brothers: Herbert and Frank Alexander.
