R. M. Vaughan Funeral Today
Rev. I. E. Hightower, minister of the Fourth Avenue Methodist Church, and Rev. W. H. McQueary, Baptist Minister of Perrin, will conduct funeral services for Richard Manly Vaughan, 63, well known business man of this city for the past 20 years, at the First Baptist Church at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon. Burial will be at Sturdivant Cemetery.

Mr. Vaughan had been ill for two weeks. He died at 3:10 a.m. Saturday. Born March 24, 1874 at Cuba, Alabama, Mr. Vaughan spent his youth and received his early education in his native city, and moved to Texas with his parents at the age of 18. He joined the Baptist Church when a young man and was a member of First Church of this city. For many years he had been a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge.

Mr. Vaughan and Miss Mamie E. Pittman were married 42 years ago at Gordon, Texas, and 20 years ago they moved to Mineral Wells where Mr. Vaughan has become well known as a business man. He formerly operated the Chicken Farm Inn on the Fort Worth Highway near the city, but for about 2 years had been operating a feed store on the Trade Grounds. He ... throughout the country, and his death removes from the ranks of Mineral Wells business men one of the city's strongest health boosters, and an early contributor to the progress and development of the Resort.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, Raymond Manly, Jack, and V. V. of Mineral Wells, and A. L. of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother, C. C. Vaughan, of Cuba, Alabama.

Pall bearers will be Claude Bostick, Homer Smith, Reese Edmondson, Frank Granbury, Frank Boatright and Fred White.

Honorary pall bearers: Judge Pat Corrigan, R. A. Whatley, G. A. Sims, J. L. Miller, Jim Brewton, Dr. J. H. McCracken, John Tom Bowman, E. B. Edmondson, Wilson Vaughan, W. P. Cameron, Allan Wallace, Rev. Bryan H. Keathley, John H. Smith, J. W. Broomfield, W. C. Boone, R. C. Ely, A. H. Guinn, R. H. Beetham, O. R. Seaman, E. F. Wagley, A. C. Traweek, Anderson Pilgrim, Sam Smith, J. M. Denson, J. Monroe Sweeney, Monroe Pilgrim, C. H. Farrell, R. L. Banks. - obituary
