The son of Milton Voorhees and Violetta Leona
Faust enlisted in the coast guard during World War I assigned to the ill fated Tampa when it was
torpedoed in the Bristol Channel. It was the greatest loss of life for the Navy. His body was
never found. The only remnant of the ship was a brass plaque with the ship's identification.
