Graveside services for Elby Rosamond "Rosie" Sims, age 95, of Denison, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2001 at the Sturdivant Cemetery, with burial in the Sturdivant Cemetery in Palo Pinto Co. Kenneth McMinn will officiate, with Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sims died at a Denison Nursing Home on September 18, 2001. She was born in Farmersville, Texas, on September 24, 1905, the daughter of John and Sally King Tyner.

She married Lawrence Sims. She {sic} preceded her in death in 1968. She moved to Mineral Wells in 1931 and moved to Denison in 1996 due to ill health. She was a retired Telephone Operator at Southwestern Bell since September 27, 1970. She was a member of the Willow Pond First Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include: sons, Lawrence Derwood Sims and wife Bobbie of Hooks, Texas, Bill Sims of Mineral Wells, Texas; granddaughters, Pam Sims Samford of Arlington, Texas, Frances Harper Watkins of Denison, Texas, Susan Sims Reed of Kiowa, Ok.; six great-granddaughters; two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers include: John Samford, Mackey Watkins, Jim Brammer, John Mahan, Lloyd Johnson and Leon Wallace.
