John T. Wilson, Esq., of Lewistown, prominent Mifflin county attorney, died suddenly of a heart attack in the Mifflin county courthouse at Lewistown on Wednesday forenoon shortly before 10 o'clock. He was found lying helpless in the men's room in the court house and was removed to the Commissioner's office where he passed away before medical aid reached his side.

He had been in failing health for several years, but earlier in the forenoon he had transacted business at various places in Lewistown before going to the court house. The body was taken in charge by a Lewistown undertaker. Funeral services will be held in the First Presbyterian church at Lewistown Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Henry A. Riddle, assisted by Rev. C.O. Anderson, of Belleville, former pastor of Mr. Wilson. Interment will be made in the Belleville Presbyterian cemetery.

John T. Wilson was born March 13, 1874, in Union Township. He was the only son of the late Major John W. and Elizabeth Anne Garver Wilson. He had one sister, Mrs. W.J. McNabb. The parents and sister are deceased, therefore Mr. Wilson was the sole survivor of his father's family.

He attended the public schools of Union Township and Indiana State Normal School. He completed his scholastic training at University of West Virginia, located at Morgantown, from which institution he was graduated in the class of 1894. Mr. Wilson was a splended student and ranked high in his studies.

After graduating at the university, Mr. Wilson read law in Pittsburgh, and upon passing a creditable examination was admitted to practice law in the courts of Allegheny County. In August 1898, he was admitted in practice at the bar of Mifflin County and had been in active practice there ever since.

Upon his return to Mifflin County he returned to the native heath in Belleville where he resided until he moved to Lewistown.

On May 12, 1908, Mr. Wilson entered in the bonds of wedlock with Miss Minnie M. Simpson, only daughter of David P. Simpson of Mill Creek, Huntingdon county.

Mr. Wilson was elceted auditor of Mifflin County in 1900 and served one more term in that office. In 1904, he was elected District Attorney of Mifflin county and served one term and the unexpired term of his successor, James C. Houser, who resigned the office when he moved to Texas. The year following his retirement from the office of District Attorney he was elected by the Board of County Commissioners as solicitor for Mifflin county which office he held for six years.

In his student days he was a football player for West Virginia University eleven, playing quarterback. He loved baseball and other sports. For Belleville baseball team he was official scorer for many years.

He stood firmly for the highest moral principals. He was a constant foe of the liquor traffic and was one of the lawyers who contributed his legel talents and efforts to make Mifflin County dry without a licensed hotel about a quarter of a centry ago.

Mr Wilson was a strong Republican in politics and he took an active interest in every election, working earnestly and sincerely in the interests of the Republican party. He was a consistant member of the Presbyterian church of Belleville, and took a keen interest in every branch of church work.

Mr. Wilson leaves his wife and a son, John W. Wilson, 522 South Main street, and among his other survivors are three nephews, Dr. John Wilson McNabb, Louisa, Kan.; Joseph McNabb, Belleville, and Dr. James McNabb, Burnham.
