Kyle Eugene Powell, 41, of Chicago, formerly of Heyworth, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 20, 2008) at John Stroger Cook County Hospital, Chicago.
He was born May 5, 1967, in Normal, to Terry and Nelda J. Dagley Powell.
He is survived by his mother, Nelda, Heyworth; two brothers, Brian (Kristi) Powell, Orange, Texas; and Patrick (Lori) Powell, Normal; his partner, Daniel Miller, Chicago; close friend, Carolyn Hall, Chicago; three nephews, Caleb and Wyatt Powell, Orange, Texas; and Spencer Powell, Normal; one uncle, Dennis Powell, Heyworth; and four aunts, Loretta (Wayne) Meece, Normal; Lois (Marvin) Detloff, Normal; Reta (Roger) Martens, Macks Creek, Mo.; and Juanita Dagley, LeRoy.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a member of the Heyworth Christian Church. Kyle graduated from Heyworth High School in 1985, where he was captain of the speech team. He was active in the Normal Parks and Recreation summer theater. He attended Illinois State University, Normal, and graduated from the School of the Art Institute, Chicago.
He enjoyed photography and video film production. He had worked at Circle Galleries, Chicago, for four years. He was currently employed at Silver Lining Digital, Chicago, as a digital production manager for the past several years.
