Mrs. Snowden was an extraordinary wife and mother. She provided "Doggie Day Care" for her family, caring for and watching family pets. She was a member of Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green in Old New Castle, where she was active with the Altar Guild. Mrs. Snowden was the daughter of the late Mr. John Waters Parrish and Beatrice Adelaide Parrish. A daughter, Kristina R. Snowden, passed away in 1970.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles Durkee Snowden, Jr.; 2 sons, Charles Durkee Snowden, III and his fianc‚e, Jessica Elizabeth Sarlin of Livingston, NJ & William Herron Cameron Snowden of Hockessin, DE; her daughter, Mary R. Johnston & son-in-law, William Hugh Johnston of Hockessin, DE.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green, Market & Harmony Sts., Old New Castle, DE on Thursday, July 22 at 12:15 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining churchyard.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Altar Guild of Immanuel Church, P.O. Box 47, New Castle, DE 19720 or Delaware Humane Association, 701 A. St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
