William L. Parsons, age 67 of Missouri City, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2003 after a brave struggle with cancer.

The son of Arthur Carleton and Miriam Lyon Parsons, he was born August 26, 1935 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Bill graduated in 1953 from North High School in Worcester, and received a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York in 1962. He also attended the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and the University of Vermont. He later worked for Storage Technology of Louisville, Colorado, and was most recently a Staff Engineer at Texas Instrument's Stafford campus. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Signal Corps in Korea, and was a Mason in the A.F. & A.M. Washington Lodge in Burlington, Vermont. He enjoyed the outdoors, racing sailboats, skiing, camping, and traveling with his family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol A. Parsons; sons, Douglas Parsons and his wife Lisa of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Bruce Parsons of Missouri City; daughter, Laura Gothro and her husband Pete of Bothwell, Washington; brother, John Richard Parsons and his wife Joyce of Avon Lake, Ohio; sister, Ann Klump and her husband John of Worcester, Massachusetts;
grandchildren, Alexandra "Sasha" Parsons, Jeffrey Parsons, Samuel Gothro, and Andrew Gothro; and numerous friends.
A Memorial Celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 2310 Brightwater Drive, Missouri City.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of William L. Parsons for research to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 297153, Houston, TX 77297
