"Young Jester, a former member of Milford's City Council, serving that body at the time of his induction into the military, was home only a short time ago and his death came as a great shock to his many friends in the community!

"Previous to his induction in 1944, he was a teller at Milford Trust Co. He was past District Deputy Grand Master of Odd Fellows of Kent County, Delaware and a past Noble Grand Lodge number l0 100F. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, graduate of Milford High and Beacon Business College and active in all movement aimed at civic improvements."

It was ironic that only 4 years earlier he had won lst prize in a national peace essay contest with an essay titled "Airplanes over France"
