George was born January 14, 1922, in Jefferson, the son of the late Calvin and Emma Garver.
He was a 1939 graduate of West York High School. A U.S. Army veteran of WWll. He had worked for Dressel Welding Co. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Including his wife, Margaret, he leaves a son, Glenn Garver and wife, Pat of Mechanicsburg; two granddaughters, Courtney McCullough and husband, Josh of York, and Jennifer Schroeder and husband, Erik of Mechanicsburg; two greatgrandchildren; a sister, Miriam Altland of York; and nieces and nephews.
Burial will follow in Mt. Rose Cemetery with a flag presentation by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
