John D. McKinney, aged 53 and father of Donald E. McKinney, who is employed by the Earl E. Young Company in Younsville, died early this morning at his home in Sligo, of a heart condition for only a short time, death came suddenly and was a shock to all who knew him.
Mr. McKinney was a veteran of World War I, having served with the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. A lifelong resident of the Sligo community, he was an active figure in all its affairs.
Besides his son in Youngsville, he leaves a wife and four children; Carl, Saxonburg; Mrs. Marion McNaughton and Deloris McKinney, Pittsburgh; Carolyn McKinney, at home.
Services in his memory will be held from the family home Sunday afternoon with interment following in Sligo cemetery. Military ritual at the graveside will be in charge of the Elliott-Gathers-McKee Post.
