Merlin Paul (Cro) Crochet,57,a native and resident of Montegut,died at 10:15 a.m. Saturday in Houma.Crochet,a U.S. Ary Veteran and Founder of Cro Equipment in 1970,worked for Texaco and in the tug boat industry.He retired from Cro Equipment in 1979.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday at the Chauvin Funeral Home chapel and from 8 a.m. Monday until funeral time.The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.He is survived by his wife,Jeanne Breaux;one son,Elliott Crochet;four daughters,Mrs.Louis (Jennifer) Mohanna,Mrs.Lenny (Patty) Chabert,Mrs.Craig (Liz) Portier and Miss Anette Crochet;one brother David Crochet;and seven grandchildren.He was preceeded in death by his parents Henry Crochet and Lottie LeBeouf.Chauvin funeral home is handling the arrangments.∼
