Effie Dorothy "Dottie" Nugent Burt was the fifth child and fourth daughter of Edmond Duncan Nugent, Jr. and Martha "Mattie" Samantha Ross. She married Luther B. Burt June 6, 1927 and they made their home in Fort Necessity, Franklin Parish, Louisiana. Luther and "Dottie" had no children; however, they loved spending time with nieces, nephews, cousins and children of their friends.
Cousin Dottie or Miss Dottie, as she was affectionately called, was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings; brothers: Lemuel Edmond and William Thomas "Bill"; sisters: Henrietta Elizabeth "Rittie", Lillian Martha "Lilly", Clare E., and Zelia Ann "Annie".
