Griffith
Nova Ray Griffith, of 102 W. 1st St., Marked Tree, died at 5:40 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, in the Craighead Memorial Hospital at Jonesboro.
Mr. Griffith, 77, was born Aug. 14, 1899, in Ravenden Springs. He was a retired farmer and service station attendant, and a veteran of World War I.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the Neiswander Baptist Church, with Rev. Jessie Hodges officiating. Burial followed in the Marker Tree Cemetery, under the direction of the Murphy Funeral Home.
Surviving are five daughters: Mrs. Maxine Isbell of Iuka, Miss., Mrs. Ruby Stevenson of Ash Flat, Mrs. Olloi Wooie Woods of Marshall, Tex., Mrs. Verneal Myers of St. Louis, Mo.and Mrs. Brenda Pitts of Marked Tree; two sons, Paul Griffith of Jasper, Tex., and Cletus Griffith of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother; Fred Griffith of Newton, Kans., 29 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
