Mary Ann Price was the 3rd of 12 children born to Robert Price and Susannah Juchau. She was born Jan 12, 1870 in Paris, Bear Lake County, Idaho, a very snowy, cold place.

One of the things Mary Ann learned at a young age was sewing. She was skilled at making clothes, and her skill was later recognized as she served on the sewing committee in the Relief Society of her LDS ward. She was a hard worker and learned early the chores of keeping house.

At the age of 18 Mary Ann married Arthur Taylor Oct. 18, 1888 in the Logan Temple. At the time of their marriage, they were both rebaptized in order to go to the temple, as their records of membership had been lost.

Mary Ann was the mother of nine children as follows: William Arthur born Dec. 12, 1889, James Robert born June 24, 1892, Margaretta born Apr. 15, 1895, Lilly born Nov. 14, 1898, Carson born Aug. 8, 1902, Clara Isebell born July 8, 1904, Lela Susannah born Aug. 30, 1906, Sarah born Apr. 25, 1909, and Carl Price born Nov. 24, 1913. There was deep sorrow when the 4th child, Lilly died July 21, 1901 at only 3 years of age.

Arthur was a carpenter and Jack of all trades, but Mary Ann always contributed to the welfare of their family by sewing for people and taking in washing when the need arose.

She was active in the second ward Relief Society of Paris, serving on the sewing committee and using her talents to "Build up the Kingdom" as stated in her funeral.

Mary Ann passed away Apr. 8, 1926 in a hospital in Ogden, Utah after a lingering illness. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, raising her family to be useful and honorable. She was only 56.

She was a highly respected resident of Paris where her funeral was held on Apr. 12, 1926 in the 2nd ward chapel. Edw. T. Shepherd conducted the service with appropriate singing furnished by a quartette, and beautiful flowers decorated the casket.

Interment was made in the family plot at the Paris Cemetery.

My father, Carson Taylor, spoke often of his love for his mother, my grandmother, so I look forward to meeting Grandma Taylor, as she passed away before I got to meet her.
