Mrs. Anna B. Burkle, wife of Ferdinand Burkle died at St. Elizabeth hospital and 7:30 a. m. Sunday. She sustained a fall on June 9 which is thought to have hastened her death, although she had been in poor health for two years. Mrs. Burkle was born in Wurtemburg, Germany Jan. 24, 1862; coming to Lafayette when 14 years of age she had been a continuous resident here. She first united in marriage with Peter Schiable in 1883 and her marriage to Ferdinand Burkle occurred July 19, 1913.
Surviving are the husband; two sons, Fred J. Schaible, Lafayette, William Schaible, Elgin, Ill; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three sisters residing in Germany. Short funeral services will be held at the residence at 2:15 p. m. Tuesday, followed at 2:30 p. m. by services at St. John's Evangelical church, of which she was a member. Interment will be made in Greenbush cemetery.
