John Patrick Farrelly was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Nashville, TN 22 May 1880. He was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Cleveland, Ohio 18 Mar 1909 and installed as Bishop 1 May 1909. He served as a priest for 41 years, 12 of those years as a bishop.
