He was born Dec. 13, 1902, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to George and Frances (Badger) Ainsworth. He graduated in 1920 from Turtle Creek High School in Turtle Creek, Pa., and attended the University of Pittsburgh.
He married Louise Witzeman in Pittsburgh in 1934. She preceded him in death in 1997.
Mr. Ainsworth was a draftsman with Westinghouse Air Brake for 45 years, retiring in 1967.
He enjoyed painting and playing the violin. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include a son, Robert George of Wis.; a daughter, Patricia Ainsworth Tarner of Poulsbo; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island. A reception follows. Cremation is under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo.
