Son of Saunders and Amanda P. Jones. Husband of Catherine M. Chandler Jones. Clayton, who resided at 616 King Street, Wilmington, Delaware, served as a Technician Fifth Grade with the Eight Air Force, U.S. Army Air Corps, during World War II. He was "Killed In Action" at an airfield in Italy while trying to put out a fire on a bomber. He had served in the Air Corps for one year and five months at the time of his death and was decorated with the Soldier's Medal.
