William A. Ambrose, 53, of 20 Albany Ave., Eden Park, died Saturday night in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Elsmere, after a long illness.

Mr. Ambrose retired in February on disability after 18 years as a steel burner with the Abex Corp. in New Castle.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Johnson Ambrose; a son, Alan, at home; two daughters, Susan Doyle of Andover, Ohio, and Arleen, also at home; three brothers, Anthony Pusakones of Marion, N.Y., Joseph of Newark, and Frank of Wilmington; three sisters, Della Stolzer of Mays Landing, N.J., Anna Chinski of Wilmington, and Marie Whitman of New Castle; and two grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial lwill be offered tomorrow morning at 10 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Garfield Park. burial will be private. Friends may call tonight at the Spicer-Mulliken Funeral Home, Du Pont Highway and E. Van Buren Ave.

Aged 53 years. Relatives, friends and Members of the Moose Lodge, New Castle, Del. and VFW Post, No. 834, New Castle, Del. are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at the Holy Spirit R. C. Church, Garfield Park, on Wesnesday morning, June 15, at 10 o'clock. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the SPICER-MULLIKIN FUNERAL HOME, DuPont Parkway and East Van Buren Avenue, Wilmington Manor on Tuesday evening after 7.
