Funeral services for Joanne will be held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Muscatine. Pastor John Meyer will officiate. Casketbearers will be Robert Halling, William Halling, Paul Hetzler, Robert Gust, George Taylor and Bill Williams. Burial will be in Melpine Cemetery. Following the interment there will be a time of food and fellowship at Grace Lutheran Church.

Joanne E. Halling was born on November 26, 1942 in Muscatine, the daughter of Fred F. and Odetta E. (Grimm) Halling. She graduated from Muscatine High School in 1961. On November 23, 1963 Joanne was united in marriage to Gary McCullough in Muscatine. She graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing, earning her Registered Nurse's Degree in 1964 and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Iowa Wesleyan College. She worked in various areas of nursing and was a school nurse for over 30 years, retiring from Muscatine Community School District in 2003. She was a Longaberger Basket Consultant for over 20 years, a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (WELCA), the Muscatine Education Association and a member of the Retired School Personnel Group of Muscatine. Joanne enjoyed gardening, antiques, home decorating, playing cards with friends and shopping with friends, daughters and grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, especially attending grandchildren's activities and events.

Joanne will be deeply missed by her husband Gary of Muscatine; her children, Ann E. Clemens and her husband Craig of Muscatine, Susan L. Bode and her husband Craig of Blue Grass and Paul J. McCullough and his wife Brooke of Muscatine; 6 grandchildren, Catherine, Nicholas and Emily Clemens and Grant, Grace and Anna Bode; her sisters-in-law, Iris McCullough Hetzler of Muscatine and Dottie McCullough Traver of Montrose, IA; and brother-in-law, Don Linnenkamp.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean Halling Linnenkamp.
