Judy, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday after a brief but brave fight with cancer.
She grew up in South Park attending Assumption Catholic Church and elementary school; graduated from South Park High School in 1971 and married her high school sweetheart, Gary, that summer. She made her home in Beaumont, raising her three beautiful girls, and in 1990 moved to Lumberton to enjoy the home she designed with her husband. She became an LVN and worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital ICU for many years. She loved nursing and excelled at her profession such that she returned to school at Lamar University to become an RN. She then went to work at M.A.S.H. and worked at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital until her death.
Judy raised three daughters, Stacey, Magan, and Brandie. She found great joy in teaching these young girls to become successful young women. She also loved her cats who were always playing at her feet. She has two grandsons, Bryce and Gavin, and on Monday, September 22nd, she welcomed a beautiful baby girl into this world. Marleigh was born at 3 pm, surrounded by her family.
Judy discovered traveling and she fell in love with finding new restaurants and shopping in far away places. She and Gary enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas with their life long friends. She loved trips to New York City where one of her favorite things to do was attend Broadway shows. She also traveled to Cape Cod with friends from work. This past June she took a trip to Europe with her daughter, Brandie, her mother, Betty, her sister-in-law, Sue Ann, and her niece, Shelly.
Survivors include her husband of thirty-seven years, Gary Boyette; daughters, Stacey Boyette Granger and her husband Duane, Magan Boyette Parigi and her husband Casey and Brandie Boyette; grandchildren, Bryce, Gavin, and Marleigh; mother, Betty Summers; brothers, Richard Summers and his wife Paula, Steve Summers and his wife Peggy, John Summers, Robert Summers and his wife Donna and Bill Summers and his wife Lori and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
Her father, Charles Summers, Jr. preceded her in death.
