ROBERTA PFEIFFER PERRY
1931-2008

Roberta Pfeiffer Perry, age 77, went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 21, 2008. Roberta, "Bobby" to a lot of people that knew her, was born in Pensacola, Florida but lived most of her life in Milton. She held down many jobs, at places such as Vanity Mills, the pharmacy at Santa Rosa Hospital, and various ships around town. She was a substitute school teacher and worked in other capacities in our local schools. She welcomed people into her home, "adopting" many military personnel who were stationed at NAS Whiting Field. She was "Nana" or "Miss Bobby" to scores of children that she cared for throughout the years. Whether teaching Sunday School, doing volunteer work at a nursing home or as one of the "Friends of the Library", she brought joy to those around her. More recently, she warmed the hearts of many people all over town by bringing them "goodies" when she would visit different businesses and doctors' offices, and she was know to some as "The Candy Lady".
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Esther Brazier Pfeiffer; her sister, Nancy Diaz; and one son, Richard Perry.
Mrs. Perry is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Sanford Perry, of Milton, FL; her children, Sandra (Charles) Wells, of Shelby, NC, Lee (Sherry) Perry, of Pace, FL, Susan (Michael) Mims, of Pace, FL, and her daughter-in-law, Catherine Perry, of St. Cloud, FL. Mrs. Perry was so proud of her eight grandsons, Jeremy (Kristi) Perry, US Army, Charles Wells IV, Jonathan Wells, SSGT Jason Mims, US Air Force, SGT Kenneth (Sondra) Perry, USMC, SGT Justin Mims, USMC, Alan Perry and Connor Perry; two granddaughters, Teresa Perry and Ashley Perry; and three great-grandchildren, Rhys Perry, Amelia Perry and Abigail Perry; her brother, Charles (Eva) Pfeiffer, of Germany; and one sister, Deborah Holloway, of Pace, FL.
Funeral services for Mrs. Perry will be 1:00PM, Thursday, September 25, 2008 graveside at Milton Cemetery with Rev. Paul Counsel officiating and Lewis Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM, Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
Friends may send condolences and share fond memories with the family to www.lewisfuneralhomes.net
Our family is grateful to all that have helped to care for "Bobby" since her health started failing. Special thanks to Dr. Joseph Cherian, who is part of our "extended family", who gave such loving care to her in her last days.
She will be missed, but remembered by all those whose lives she touched.
