Gary Lynn Rider, son of the late Charles and Billie Louise (Blackburn) Rider, was born February 25, 1946 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. As a young man, Gary was baptized in Holdenville.

Gary attended primary school while living in Holdenville and while attending the fifth grade, he and his family moved to Pinole, California where he finished school and graduated. After graduation, Gary earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Laney College in Oakland, California.

On August 3, 1964, Gary was united in marriage to Paula Jean Pendergrass in Richmond, California. They were blessed with four children: Sid, Tracy, Anthony and Tuesday.

Gary owned and operated his own business in Livermore, California named Quality Quick Printing. Gary retired from the business in 1989 and then moved to Missouri. He worked for a time at Uncle Ike's Ranch in Branson, Missouri and also drove a truck for Prime Inc. of Springfield, Missouri.

In his spare time, Gary loved being outdoors taking care of horses or hiking with his grandkids. He enjoyed watching NASCAR races, was a big Oakland Raider football fan and was very active with watching his grandkids sporting events. He was a good cook and was proud of his chili recipe and would make everyone eat some when they came to visit.

Gary passed away at his home Friday, September 12, 2008 at the age of 62 years, 6 months and 18 days.

Gary will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by four children: Sid Rider and Tracy Rider both of Richland, MO; Anthony Rider of Sacramento, California and Tuesday Martin of Golt, California; the childrens' mother: Paula Rider of Richland, MO; one sister Becky Wilson of Martinez, California; one nephew, Scott Wilson; 8 grandchildren: Dale Cohen, Cody and Gary Rider, Mikayla Martin, Jennifer, Kailey, Angella Rider and Icye Capauno; one great grandson: Kaden Cohen.
