Nathan K (Pat) Patterson, 75, passed away Friday, September 19, 2008 in Abilene TX.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Willow Cemetery with Rev. John Erwin and Rev Bro. Amburn officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, September 22, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held under the direction of Holden McCauley Funeral Home.

Nathan was born April 24, 1933 in Haskell County to the late John K. Patterson and Susie Brinegar. He married Gwendolyn Sue Thomason, Strickland, Byrd on May 20, 1978 in Hamlin.

Nathan was a devout Christian and a member of the Nazarene Church in Hamlin, TX. In 1980 he and Sue opened Sue's Flowers in Haskell; he also owned Patterson Welding in Haskell. Nathan enjoyed being a floral designer after retiring from the oilfield welding business. He liked to hunt and ride horses when he was growing up. He liked to eat good food and travel. He was very proud of his grandchildren they called him "Papaw". He was proud to have served his country in the Korean Conflict in the US Army.

Nathan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister Christine Collins.

Survivors include: his wife of thirty years, Gwendolyn Sue Patterson; one daughter, Dawn Ham and husband, Gil of Stamford; one son, Kenneth Patterson of Abilene; two step sons, Jim Strickland and fiancé Pam of Haskell and Terry Strickland and wife, Jacqui of Waco; two granddaughters, Tanna Burfiend and husband, Michael of Stamford and Amanda Ham of Stamford; two step granddaughters, Christie Trevino and husband, Alex of San Antonio and Alexandria Strickland of Waco; three great grandchildren, Kimberlyn London, Ethan Ham and Matthew Burfiend; three step grandchildren, Jimmy Strickland and wife, Teri of San Antonio, Christie Trevino and husband, Alex of San Antonio and Alexandria Strickland of Waco; two great step grandchildren, Alexis Trevino and Eric Salazar; and several nieces and nephews.
