DENISON- Leland M. Lee McCrory, 83, of Holton, formerly of Denison, KS, died Saturday, February 16, 2008 at a nursing home in Holton. He was born February 24, 1924 in Denison, KS the son of Matthew Henry and Esther Turner McCrory. He graduated from Denison High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Lee had been a lifelong farmer and stockman in the Denison community. He married Peggy Hedges on May 11, 1948 in Holton. She survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, Joel McCrory of Aledo, IL and Mark McCrory of Topeka, KS; a daughter, Janet Larson of Tescott, KS; 2 sisters, Pauline Argubright of Shawnee, KS and Lorraine Ferguson of Chesterfield, MO; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by a brother Wendell Cork McCrory in 1985. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Interment will be in the Denison Cemetery.
