Co. D, 34th Massachusetts Infantry. Killed in battle of Piedmont. Originally buried on B. Crawford's Farm, Piedmont. Though headstone reflects the rank of corporal, wife often referred to him as a sergeant. Need to verify in service records.

Resided in Holyoke, Mass. before the war.

Married Julia Morris (born in Malone, NY; died 6/6/1916), 7/4/1852. Children include William H. Clark, born 9/8/1853, Franklin Co., N.H., and Julia Mariah Clark, born 9/10/1862, Holyoke, Hampden Co., Mass.
