Beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Fernith Allred Adolf, 89, died Sept. 16, 2008, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell, surrounded by her loved ones. Fernith was born Sept. 15, 1919, the daughter of John Orvel and Iva Gifford Allred.


Fernith adored spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Fernith was known for her compassionate spirit and nature. She served many people throughout her life as an aide at the hospital and through her service in church.


Fernith was an active member of the LDS church where she served in many callings and touched the lives of many people. She served in the Primary, Cub Scouts, Blazer Scouts, Young Women, as a stake missionary, numerous callings in the Relief Society including that of a visiting teacher, and was Relief Society president numerous times including Stake Relief Society President. She loved to sing in the choir. Most of all she was a mom and grandmother.


On April 21, 1937, she married the love of her life, Jacob Adolf. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 15, 1950. They served a full-time mission together in the Frankfurt, Germany, Mission.


Fernith loved to spend time in her gardens. She loved flowers from her garden, especially her roses.


Fernith was preceded in death by her parents, Iva Gifford and John Orvel Allred; her brothers, Garth Gifford Allred and Keith Orvel Allred; her sisters, Wilma Sonora Allred Anderson, Lorna Allred Hitz and Arannah Ruth Allred; her beloved husband, Jacob Adolf; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


She is survived by her children, Patricia Gail Allphin (N. Lee) of Stark City, Mo., Linda Kay "Fred" Fry (Kenny) of Neosho, Mo., Barbara Lee Skinner (Darrell) of Lovell, Barton Jacob Adolf of Cody, Darlene Beasley (Ben) of Hendersonville, N.C., and Gregory Jay Adolf (Vicki) of Monmouth, Ore.; sisters, Rebecca Walker (Dean) of Lovell and Violet Averett of West Valley City, Utah; sisters-in law, Karma Allred of Cowley, Arlene Allred of Lovell and Roma Adolf of Lovell; 27 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She loved and knew each one of them.
