Earl Leslie Reid was born in Ettyville, Ontario on October 11, 1932. He was the son of Earl J and Susan Windsor Reid. He attended Massena High School. He entered the Navy in April 1950, and received recruit training at the Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. and served in the US Navy until 1953. He was survived by his wife, one son, his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
