Chase Mills: Levi O. Ballou died Tuesday, May 16 at the U. S. Veteran's hospital, Batavia.

His father died when he was two days old. He attended district school and Albany Business school. On his return home he worked in the store for Levi Barnett in Raymondville, and in September 1912 he and his brother Harry purchased the store of Knowland and Tuttle and it became known under the name of Ballou Brothers. He served eleven months in the army occupation at Gobleng, Germany. On November 15, 1919 he married Miss Maefred Watson of this place, and he continued in the partnership with his brother until his death. He is survived by his wife, his brother Harry, a niece, Miss Betty Ballou of Central Islip, Long Island, and an uncle, George D. Power of Colorado Springs, CO.

Burial was made in Greenview cemetery in Chase Mills.
