"ATTICA - Robert Lee Abolt, 77, died at 5:50 PM Saturday, July 17, 2004, in Lafayette Home Hospital. The son of the late Borden and Mary Marr Abolt, he was born May 8, 1927, in Richland Township, Fountain County. He was raised and educated in Richland Township and later moved to Attica. After school, he entered the Army and served as a sergeant in World War II.

Mr. Abolt worked for 38 years at Harrison Steel Castings Co. in Attica as a crane operator. After retirement, he worked for three years as a school bus driver for Attica Consolidated School Corp. For the past 12 years, he assisted Bob and Brad Freeman in farming. He was a former member of the Baptist church in Newtown, and was a meber of Moose Lodge 1482 of Attica.

Surviving are a daughter, Vicky L. Johnson (husband Brian) of Williamsport; a son, David L. Abolt of Lafayette; and two grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers, Milford and Marvin Abolt." - Lafayette Journal & Courier - Mon 7/19/2004 (Obituary provided by Vonda)
