A Rhoton Family genealogy states "Lyda" was born in Nashville, TN soon going to MO and then to Bourbon Co., KS. "Lyda" was Mother's Helper for the John and Amanda Turner family. When Amanda died leaving several children "Lyda" married John Turner and had 4 children of her own: Otto, Pluma Edith, Lula Alice and Ruth Caroline.
"Lyda" is buried with her parents and siblings.

PIONEER MOTHER TO REST
Grandmother Turner, pioneer of the community, passed away Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Beaman, at the age of 85 years. She had for some years made her home with her children.
Funeral rites were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Uniontown. the church was filled with relatives and friends who came to pay their last respects to an honored one.
The pastor, the Rev. J. R. Williams, brought the message and the Rev. E.M. Daniels of Bronson, an old friend of the deceased, read the twenty third Psalm.
Mr. Williams read the following obituary:
Eliza Jane Turner was born April 22, 1855 near Nashville, Tenn. She departed this life May 17, 1940, being 85 years, 25 days old at the time of her death.
She moved with her parents to Kansas when she was about 4 years of age, living in and near Uniontown constantly until her death.
She was married to John Turner February 10, 1876. To this union were born 4 children: Otto T. Turner, Kiowa; Mrs. Pluma Nichols, Bronson; and Mrs. Ruth Beaman, Uniontown. Lulu preceded her in death last September. She also leaves a step-son, William T. Turner, Chatham, Illinois.
She was converted when 14 years of age, joining the Baptist church at Bethel, and later transferring her membership with Mr. Turner to the Methodist church at Uniontown, of which she was still a member at the time of her death.
Mr. Turner preceded her in death July 14, 1921.
She leaves her three children, one stepson, 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grand children.
Honorary pall bearers were: Illah and Lucille Pool, Ina Beaman, Ruby Olson, and Bernice Nichols, granddaughters; and Reta Marie Nichols, great granddaughter.
Active pall bearers: Leslie Turner, Gerald Beaman, Harold Beaman, Orland and Roy Nichols, grandsons; and Bennie Turner, great grandson.
Out of town relatives were: Mr. and Mrs. Otto Turner of Kiowa; Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Millage of Alva, Okla.; Mrs. Orra Olson of Capron, Okla.; Mrs. Ruby Olson of Hardtner; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brown and Romola Winter of Sublette, Mr. and Mrs. Earle Baker and daughter, Shirley Jane of Sublette; Mrs. Eva Pauling, Mr. and Mrs. Bowman, Mr. and Mrs. Earle Rogers, of Fort Scott; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Leadstrom of Chanute, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ard and daughter of Elsmore, and Miss Ethel Beaman of Lawrence.
