"Bert Buchanan, who was killed in action in France July 30, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buchanan, of West Waynesburg, and for a number of years before enlisting he was employed by Charles Thompson, of West Waynesburg. He was a fine, industrious young man and was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Waynesburg. Beside his parents he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: James, of West Waynesburg; William and Tallie Buchanan, Miss Elizabeth Buchanan and Mrs. Charles Patterson, at home; Mrs. Rachel Bayard, of Steubenville, O., and Mrs. Henry Ullom, of East Waynesburg."
