Madison Woman Dies Here.


Mrs. Bertha Priscilla Brady, 62, of Madison, died at 2:40 o'clock Friday afternoon in he Newman Memorial County hospital, where she had been a patient since November 14. Mrs. Brady had lived in the vicinity of Madison since 1928. She moved there from Emmetsburg. Iowa.


Funeral services will be held at the McVey-Jones Funeral home in Emporia at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Rev. Hugh B. Fouke, pastor of the First Methodist church, will conduct the services.


Mrs. Brady was born July 25, 1879. Three sons and six daughters survive her. They are Marion Edward Phillips, of Ewen, Mich.; Walter Raymond Phillips, of Valentine, Neb.; Ivan Loren Phillips, of Emmetsburg, Iowa; Mrs. Blanch Ryan, Mrs. Pearl Smith, Mrs. Hazel Kleifer, Mrs. Mildred Bailey and Mrs. Ruth Hemmerling, all of Oakland, Calif., and Mrs. Myrtle Schaeffer, Valentine, Neb. She is survived also by three sisters,, Mrs. Henry Powell, Des Monies, Iowa; Mrs. Don Nickerson, Nevada, Iowa, and Mrs. Grace Hardesty, Chicago.

Services for Mrs. Brady


Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Priscilla Brady, of Madison, who died Friday in an Emporia hospital, were held Monday afternoon in the McVey-Jones Funeral home. Rev. Hugh B. Fouke, pastor of the First Methodist church, conducted the services. Mrs. J.I. Beeson and Mrs. Howard McVey sang, accompanied by Mrs. Alfred Smith. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery.


Mrs. Bertha Priscilla Brady, wife [of] John Brady, was born July 25, 1879 near Emmetsburg, Iowa. She was married in 1893 to Francis Marion Phillips, who preceded her in death. Two sons and a daughter also preceded her in death. In 1926 she was married to John Brady in New Elm, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Brady came to Kansas in 1928, and since that time have lived on a farm near Madison. Beside her husband, she is survived by three sons and six daughters, children of her former marriage and by three sisters.
