Bertha P. Lucas, 82, of Griffa Avenue died at 2:38 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, at her home.
Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker and a member of Garden City Church of Christ. The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 12:30 p.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Born in Brown County April 29, 1926, Mrs. Lucas was the daughter of William T. and Bertha A. Robertson Bond. She married Elza M. Lucas Dec. 12, 1942.
She is survived by her children, Larry R. (Brenda) Lucas of Columbus, Gwen (Jeff) Wilkerson of Columbus and Linda K. (Stanley) Smock of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Gregory Wilkerson of Columbus, Karen (Chris) Taylor of Seymour, Jane (Kenny) Gray of Seymour, Gary (Lori) Smock of Edinburgh, John (Cindy Holzhausen) Smock of Edinburgh and Julie K. Smock of Jeffersonville; and 11 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Dec. 28, 2004; three brothers; and six sisters.

Born in Brown County April 29, 1926, Mrs. Lucas was the daughter of William T. and Bertha A. Robertson Bond. She married Elza M. Lucas December 12, 1942.
She is survived by her children, Larry R. (Brenda) Lucas of Columbus, Gwen (Jeff) Wilkerson of Columbus and Linda K. (Stanley) Smock of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Gregory Wilkerson of Columbus, Karen (Chris) Taylor of Seymour, Jane (Kenny) Gray of Seymour, Gary (Lori) Smock of Edinburgh, John (Cindy Holzhausen) Smock of Edinburgh and Julie K. Smock of Jeffersonville; and 11 great-grandchildren.
