Thomas Lee Woodrum, 79, of 4889 Dobbins Bridge Road, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born September 6, 1928 in Garten, WV, he was the son of the late Claude H. and Nellie Mae Hill Woodrum. He retired after 20 years in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He later retired from Ryobi (Singer) after 23 years service. Survivors include his wife, Anna Elizabeth Wächter Woodrum of the home; daughter, Marilynn Cosgrove and her husband, Bob of Anderson; son, Gary Woodrum and his wife, Jan of Anderson; two grandchildren, Katrina Bowie and Travis Woodrum; and two great grandchildren, Brizon Bowie and Hunter Woodrum. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Sullivan-King Mortuary, Northeast Chapel, conducted by Father Aubrey McNeil, O.F.M. Burial will be in the M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the northeast chapel, 3205 North Highway 81, Anderson. The family is at the home of his son, Gary and Jan Woodrum, 4903 Dobbins Bridge Road, Anderson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Rd., Wilton, NH 03086. Mr. Woodrum retired after 20 years in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He was the husband of Anna.
