Mrs. Petersen dies Tuesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Dagmar Petersen, 88, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hardy. Mrs. Petersen died Tuesday at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln. She had been hospitalized since June 2.

Survivors are her two daughters, Mrs. Dean McGowan (Viola) of Superior and Mrs. Herbert Mesloh (Elna) of Ravenna, Neb.; two sons, Harvey Petersen of Hardy and Alvin Petersen of Republic; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

The Rev. Lon DuBois will officiate and burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dagmar Sophia Andersen was born in Kellerup, Denmark, November 7, 1886, the daughter of Andres and Anna Maria Jensen Martinsen. She died on June 10, 1975 at Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, Nebraska.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Kellerup, Denmark. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church (sic) at Hardy, Nebr.

At the age of nineteen, she came to America to join her brothers and sisters in Nebraska.

On March 12, 1908, she was united in marriage to Thomas C. Petersen in the home of his parents. They established their home north of Hardy and farmed in the Hardy vicinity until 1952 when they moved into Hardy. After the death of her husband she made her home in Superior, Nebr.

Two sons and two daughters were born to this union: Mrs. Herbert Mesloh (Elna) of Ravenna, Nebr., Harvey Petersen of Hardy, Nebr., Mrs. Dean McGowan (Viola) of Superior, Nebr., and Alvin Petersen of Republic.

She was the last surviving member of her family of nine. She leaves her four children, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 13, 1975 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Pauls Lutheran church (sic) of Hardy, with Pastor Lon DuBois officiating. Burial was in the Springcreek (sic) cemetery (sic), of Ruskin.
