Josephine Fern Staser, 96, formerly of Peoria, died at 11:55 p.m., Saturday (Sept. 13, 2008) at Heritage Manor in Mount Sterling. She moved to Mount Sterling in 2002 to make her residence with her niece, Louise Hawkins.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Friday at the Wilton Mortuary, Peoria, with the Rev. Curt Keller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson.

She was born May 9, 1912 in Hudson to James and Emma Belle Harper Abrams. She married William C. "Clint" Staser on June 18, 1930 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1996, in Peoria.

Also preceding her in death are two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her nephew, Larry (Connie) Abrams, Lake Wales, Florida and many other nieces and nephews.

She attended Hudson schools, was a homemaker, a member of the Caterpillar Retiree's Club, and of the Methodist faith. She was well loved by her family and all who knew her.
