DR. HAL BYFIELD DIED IN EVANSVILLE FRIDAY
FUNERAL HELD HERE, CONDUCTED BY DR. R. P. JONES
Funeral services for Dr. Harold R. Byfield, 47 years of age, who died Friday afternoon at St. Mary's hospital in Evansville, were conducted this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the residence of Dr. J. H. Dean, the Rev. Rhys Price Jones in charge. He was a member of the Franklin Presbyterian church. The casket bearers were: Lou Zeppenfeld, Isaac T. Bice, Dr. W. H. Schlosser, Dr. J. H. Dean, Dr. John Henderson and Fred Staff. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery.
Dr. Byfield formerly lived in Franklin, where for 15 years he practiced his profession as dentist, but about for or five years ago, he removed to Evansville, where he had since been engaged in the practice of dentistry. Dr. Byfield was a member of one of Johnson county's oldest and most prominent families. His father, Charles Byfield, was for many years prominently identified with the political and business affairs of Johnson county, being for a time clerk of the Johnson circuit court.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edelle Crawford, who lives in California; his mother, Mrs. Mattie Byfield, of Indianapolis; three brothers, Ralph Byfield, of Florida; and Gus and Ray Byfield, of Indianapolis; and one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Bush, of Indianapolis.
Dr. Byfield's body was brought here Sunday afternoon, and was taken to the funeral parlors of Flinn & Henderson, where the funeral was conducted this afternoon.
