Hendon Reed had assumed the name of their Stepfather Al Reed, the mixup occurred.
The main point here is that Nev Hendon chose his very on Hendon family name and conducted all his affairs the rest of his life as Nev Hendon! Though Nev Hendon deceased in 1918 during the Worldwide Spanish Flu epidemic, and prior to the census of 1920, His family name of Hendon and progeny are known as Hendon!

His full name: Mabry Elmer Clemon Hendon is seldom used. Clemon E. Hendon#67817309 was used all his natural life and he was buried at Russell Chapel Cemetery, Hardin County, TN.
