Mr. James Norman Baker, 82, of Wadesboro, Deep Creek Community, died November 6, 1995 at his home. Funeral services were held November 8, 1995 at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Rev. D.W. Carpenter conducting and Rev. George Senter assisting. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Baker was a retired farmer and a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church where he was baptized in August 1928. He loved gardening, horses, and dogs. He was preceded in death by his wife Izzie Elizabeth Brock Baker whom he married November 3, 1934 in Chesterfield, S.C. He was the son of William Jackson Baker Sr. and Nezzie Irene Chewning Baker and was born April 8, 1913.
